![]() When guests stay at our yurt camp they are often amazed at how quiet it is at night. There is very little noise, however what can be heard are the night time calls of some of the British native species who live in the vicinity of the lake field and yurt camp. Recently we have been visited on a nightly basis by a young fox, who has been calling, barking and screaming loudly. The scream of a fox can often be mistaken for that of a baby, or person having a spooky quality. During August the cubs start leaving the den and starting to fend for themselves. Picture here is a young fox in the farmhouse garden - he is looking warily at the humane trap set to try and catch him so he can be relocated to a new home away from our poultry!
