FOX IN THE FARMHOUSE GARDEN AUGUST 2014

Dring the month of August Fox cubs are kicked out by their parents to go and fend for themselves and over the past few nights there has been much noise at night in the yurt field, also the chicken meadow and the farmhouse garden.  These pictures were taken using my pro stalk 5000 wildlife camera - They show the young fox taking a peek at my humane trap, and also generally hanging about the farmhouse garden.  I am always pleased to get a glimpse of some of the shy wildlife surrounding our home, but only as long as they are not causing trouble for my hens.  Hopefully if I can catch this youngster I will release him up on to Dartmoor where he will be able to fend for himself without bothering anyone's livestock!

Fox Cub in the humane trap

There is a multitude of wildlife living in and around the yurt camp including foxes and badgers along with deer and many other native species.  Recently the foxes have been noisily playing in our farmhouse garden which is adjacent to one of our hen houses.  I have placed the trap with a view of relocating any that I caught.  These pictures show the cub that was recently caught.  Watch the video to see what we did with him
