AUTUMN FOXES 2018
The yurt camp is situated in a wonderful rural location with plenty of fields and woods, so there are many species of wildlife that visit our garden, fields and lake. The foxes are frequent and regular visitors, and these pictures show the fox recently coming at night to take the body of an elderly hen that passed away of old age. We always leave the bodies out to give a meal to other animals. You can tell by the body language of the foxes in these pictures that they are very wary of our wildlife cameras.
SPRING WILDLIFE 2018
Our yurt camp is home to a multitude of wildlife - sometimes you may get a glimpse of them but lots of our indigenous species are quite illusive and roam more freely after dark. I have a couple of wildlife cameras, a prostalk 5000 and an apeman H68 and these pictures are from one night, 3rd May 2018 show the variety of animals including a badger, fox and many wild birds that visit our garden adjacent to the yurt camp, over a 12 hour period. There is a small colony of Mandarin ducks which are very unusual ducks and they live on the river Hems and they are frequent visitors. Mandarin ducks are the only ducks that nest in trees.
