Whilst the rest of the UK has been having some substantial falls of snow and freezing last week temperatures its been relatively mild here with a few snow flurries and some slushy snow fallilng but not laying. This week has heralded the changes and the wind and rain has returned again to the south west. The Devon and Cornwall peninsula generally has mild winters, dominated by south westerly winds with rain being a feature, atlhough we do have much milder temperatures than the rest of the UK - which is why is such a lovely place to come for a holiday. Torquay is only 6 miles from our yurt camp and is known as the English Riviera - along the sea front are palm trees and beautiful sandy beach This is the time of year when we are starting to prepare for the up and coming glamping season. Our yurts have been stored all winter in one of our barns and we are looking forward to some warm and dry days to bring them out and put them back on their decking plinths ready for our first guests in March. We have posted a copy of the Totnes Tourist Guide for 2013 to all the guests that stayed here last year - hopefully they will be able to find our little advert. We are always happy to send this to our guests as it promotes the lovely town we live near along with lots of the local attractions, restaurants and places to eat and stay. Please ask if you would like a copy.
