![]() September 2014 has been the warmest and driest for the past 50 years and our late summer guests have been enjoying the spectacular sunsets and misty mornings at Hemsford. Our yurt camp will this year be closing earlier than usual in October - this is to allow for the essential ground works that are about to start in mid October. Our yurt camp is going to have a new water main as is our farmhouse and the surrounding cottages. We hope that the work will be finished well before the start of the 2015 season (March 15th). We have welcomed around 400 guests to Hemsford yurt camp during 2014 with many guests returning for their second and third visits. We have welcomed guests from all over the world, including from Australia, Brunei, Norway, Ireland, Belgium, Holland, Scotland, Spain and France. We are always pleased to welcome both new visitors and return guests.

![]() September is a fabulous time of year when the nights start drawing in - this year September has so far been very warm - with temperatures around 22 degrees during the daytime with cooler evenings and an enormous harvest moon. Its also a time of autumn feasts with plenty of apples, blackberries, bullaces and sloes in all the hedges and orchards. The wildlife around the yurt camp including the foxes and badgers are very adaptable and they will eat from the windfalls and berries available. This year we have once again had guests who were taking part in the Dart 10k swim from the Steamer Quay in Totnes to Dittisham - what glorious viewpoint for all the amazing scenery that the Dart Valley has to offer. Our guests in September have been lucky to enjoy the lovely weather and clear skies - ideal for sky watchers. |
