![]() Often when our guests are due to arrive they will receive a text from me to find out exactly what time of the day they will be hoping to arrive. Most of our guests do not realise that the yurt camp is actually situated a short walk across 2 fields from our farmhouse and so its always helpful to know an approximate time of arrival so that we can be at the yard and parking area to welcome our guests and show them around the facilities. The walk across the fields, means a short stroll through a paddock adjacent to the Hems river where some of my hens live. The hen run is in the first paddock nearest the farmhouse and has a secure 6 foot high fence surrounding the hen houses - this is designed to prevent the fox from taking our poultry. I am fortunate to own a wildlife camera which is called a pro stalk 5000 and can take remote pictures both night time and day time of anything that moves. It is triggered by motion and takes both video and photographs. Over the years we have lived here I have taken a variety of wildlife pictures, including the picture above of a badger who is actually inside the hen run at night on the 6th July 2013. We have no idea how he gets in and no idea how he can get out, so it is going to be interesting to try and set the camera in differing locations to try and see if we can work out how he is getting in. Today has been the hottest day of the year so far with our most recent guests describing our camp as a "hidden jewel"!!! Today has also seen Andy Murray win the mens title at Wimbledon -what a fab match- well done Andy!!!
