
![]() Just when you think that the weather is starting to show glimpses of lovely spring weather everything is turned back into the throws of winter. This week at the yurt camp has seen some very dry weather but also very cold winds from the east. Its been feeling very cold as the wind chill factor makes 2 degrees feel like minus 5. However the sight of a daytime fox at 4pm in the afternoon has meant we are being extra vigilant in looking after our hens. They are now currently moved into their summer quarters in the paddock behind the farmhouse as opposed to the paddock across the river from the yurt camp. The fox has recently played havoc with my neighbours hens and we always know that spring is not far away when you start to see a fox during daylight hours. The foxes become more desparate and take risks when they have cubs to feed hence whey they start to venture out during the day when they are normally a nocturnal creature. The picture here is taken with a Prostalk 5000 wildlife camera and shows the tail end of the fox as he is out and about at
