The past two weeks have been rather damp at times with lots of rain and showers predominating the weather. Our guests are pretty adept at making the most of clear evenings and most guests have been able to have some lovely evening camp fires with marshmallows being toasted and memories being made. We have also welcomed two new additions to our family. Firstly a new puppy - Gracie, a border collie cross with springer spaniel (a sprollie) who has been in the yurt camp visiting our guests on her daily walks and playing with the children. Gracie is currently nearly 10 weeks old and her training is well under way. Border Collies are known for their intelligence and Springer Spaniels are often used as working dogs, so we are hoping she will become a very well behaved part of our family. We have also welcomed over the past month a new young ginger and white cat at the yurt camp. One of our families have given her a name: Gretel. The ginger and white young female seems very friendly indeed and not at all like the existing feral cat, Kitty. Gretel seems well cared for, but has been sleeping in the stables and has been thoroughly spoiled by our cat loving guests. Hopefully I can get a picture for this blog soon. Gretel turned up one night when I was waiting for a very late arrival (who never actually showed up but that's another story of and utter time waster!). I am thinking I could write a book of tales from the yurt camp - they certainly would be entertaining. The bank holiday is almost upon us and another Staverton Country Fayre will be taking place on the playing fields. A lovely afternoon out for all the family :)
