![]() The last day of August is a fabulous sunny morning, with brilliant blue skies and lovely warm temperatures. This summer has flown by at the yurt camp and the weather has been as good as a British summer can ever be. Over the past few months a great many people have stayed in our yurts and almost everyone of our guests have been treated to the gorgeous sunshine and good weather. The ground is now very dry and the grass is baked and the earth parched. The blackberries are starting to slowly ripen and the apples in the orchard are ripening too in the sunshine, however everywhere looks like it needs some rain to bring relief to the plants and trees. The odd shower that has passed over in the last week has not even had time to soak into the ground which is split open and showing enormous cracks in the mud in places. Its quite a contrast to the summer of 2012 when we had virtually non stop rain throughout the summer. September will welcome darker evenings and mornings and the lovely smell of the autumn when the evenings draw in and dew is more frequent.
