Its now the end of our fourth season as glamping hosts and we have learned so much over that time. This weekend we have taken down the last of our 4 yurts for the winter sabbatical. Its always a special time taking them down as several of our good friends come and help and they are all now quite expert at yurt building and deconstruction! We always have a picnic in the field and the spirits are high at the end of the glamping season. We are often treated to the sight of small toads that love to live under our yurt bases. We will certainly miss having our guests and look forward to seeing our regular and new visitors again in 2016 after our winter rest. The yurts are stored safely away in our barn until the spring, and around March we will put them back on the camp site. Its quite an art to pack them away into the barn so they can stay safe and dry and away from the ravages of winter. The autumn so far has been dry and cool, and the fields are still looking green and lush. The light at this time of year is superb for photographs but the yurt camp looks rather empty and strange without the yurts on their decking bases. Our horses are always intrigued when we start removing the yurts from the camp site and spent the last day watching intently across the fence line. Having had visitors from all over the world this year, including New Zealand and Japan we are hoping that many more happy glampers will visit us in 2016.
