Not such a good year for blackberries Summer is drawing to a close and there guests are still arriving for their autumnal break at our yurt camp. Sometimes September is a very appealing time for guests to visit our yurt camp and Devon for those preferring to visit when the school holidays have ended. This week we have had guests making good use of the camp fires wood burning stoves for those darker chillier evenings a giving a very cosy glamping holiday. It is probably the most asked question "will we be cold". Every time I get asked this question I say the same thing - the wood burning stoves are highly efficient at heating the interior of our yurts and keeping everyone warm and toasty even on the coldest and wettest of evenings and nights. This week we have had a bit of an Indian summer with warm sunny days, although with the darker evenings and fabulous September sunsets the conditions have been wonderful at the camp. There are blackberries to be foraged in the hedges and a profusion of teasels in the lake field. The apples are ripening in the orchard and the smell of autumn is wafting over the meadows.
